Our attendant global culture encourages us as listeners/observers/composers to be stupid, or at least passively, intellectually conformist.
As composers we should consider ourselves as a playful torturer of those who think they know “what’s going on”.   Role Play:  i.e. 'A self-deprecating, intellectual, feminist neurotic.'

For instance, I may see in myself as an unstable mixture of the Physics and Pedagogy, but as far as any of us today would like to be known, we would prefer to have opportunistically included a music review than have treated another human as subhuman. Today we are morally better people, despite the blindness of contemporary scientistic apotheosis.  Hence, music.


"The purpose of composing is “not to solve problems, but to redefine problems.” 


True problems don’t need composers or compositions, yet this shows us that in ‘normal thinking... ideas, thoughtfulness, profundity and fully free expression wither away thanks to a culturally-nourished expectation that these things are not worth considering.
